Agnikul Cosmos Secures ₹67 Crore Funding to Accelerate Agnibaan Rocket Launch and Scale Manufacturing
Indian spacetech startup Agnikul Cosmos has raised ₹67 crore ($7.6 million) in a mix of equity and debt funding, marking its first major capital infusion in over two years.
The latest funding round saw participation from Advenza Global, Atharva Green Ecotech LLP, and Pratithi Investments, underscoring growing investor confidence in India’s rapidly evolving private space technology ecosystem.
Founded in 2017 by IIT-Madras alumni Srinath Ravichandran and Moin SPM, Agnikul Cosmos is pioneering the development of small-lift launch vehicles designed to provide affordable and on-demand access to space.
The company’s flagship vehicle, the Agnibaan rocket, is a highly modular and customizable launch system capable of carrying small satellites to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) with precision and cost efficiency.
According to industry sources, the newly raised funds will be utilized to scale up manufacturing, expand test facilities, and advance commercial launch readiness for the Agnibaan orbital rocket. The company is also expected to enhance its 3D-printed rocket engine production capabilities, a core innovation that has positioned Agnikul Cosmos as a leader in India’s new-age private space sector.
The funding comes at a time when India’s space technology industry is witnessing unprecedented momentum, with startups leveraging ISRO’s policy reforms and increasing global demand for small satellite launches. Agnikul Cosmos has already made headlines for becoming the first Indian company to successfully test a fully 3D-printed rocket engine, demonstrating the nation’s growing prowess in advanced aerospace manufacturing.
With this latest round, Agnikul Cosmos aims to fast-track its commercial operations and position itself among global players in the small satellite launch market, which is projected to grow exponentially in the coming decade.
“Our goal has always been to make space accessible, reliable, and affordable,” said Srinath Ravichandran, CEO and co-founder of Agnikul Cosmos. “This funding will help us accelerate our journey toward the first orbital launch of the Agnibaan rocket and scale up our infrastructure for future missions.
As India continues to strengthen its position in the global space economy, startups like Agnikul Cosmos, Skyroot Aerospace, and Bellatrix Aerospace are redefining the future of space exploration, satellite deployment, and launch services.
